As I am sure most PS3 users are aware now, Stanford University, along with Sony has devised a plan to utilize PS3's in assiting the university with their gene folding project which will run on participating PS3's around the world. It sounds like a good thing, but I am a little leary of the fact that someone can actually use my PS3 while it is sitting in my house basically without my even knowing once I give the permission. If you have not heard of this, just look at your PS3 menu bar after you have done the latest update, there is an icon there for you to click on and give them permission.

We have been folding at home for two weeks now and have no issues what so ever. We use the wifi connection and once the unit ifs uploaded another downloads -then we disable the connection. THe ps3 folds the unit over night when it's done we enable the wifi connection and it uploads folded unit and downloads a new one.

Our music is still there the photos are untouched etc... and quite frankly if anyone honestly thinks that any form of internet affords you any privacy whether it be through a game console -xbox live -ps3- wii or a computer then they are really fooling themselves it is virtually impossible not to leave footprints even if you have rotating ips -- trust me website logs can tell when someone has rotating ips and where the person came from. search engines like google use tracking programs all the time to create data to use in it's services.

Amen!! I agree 2 hundred%, who doesnt understand that a PS3 is far greater suitable than the Xbox 360, the 360 fanboys understand that a PS3 is greater effective than a 360, in technologies and each thing yet they merely wont admit it, I even have the two, and that i think of the PS3 is greater effective, and sincw I even have the two dont count quantity me as a PS3 fanboy, cus if i replaced right into a PS3 fanboy, why could i purchase a 360!! my acquaintances who very own an Xbox 360 continually attempt to make the Ps3 look undesirable, for example one in all them got here to my living house, and we've been downloading a demo, i left the ps3 on for a at a similar time as, and as quickly as we got here back, the svreen replaced right into slightly darker because of the fact we hadn't pressed any button for an prolonged time, so he started asserting, " ahaa ur ps3 iced up, my 360 by no ability does that", I mean now undemanding, even he knew the ps3 didnt freeze, it replaced into in basic terms a exhibit saver, yet such as you pronounced, the 360 fanboys and proprietors wont admit it!! however I say to my acquaintances and tell them approximately how the 360 is previous while in comparison with the PS3's tecnhology, on the top, they'll say in basic terms one element: " nevertheless a 360 is greater effective"??? undemanding, what are they? 3 year olds, seriosly, anyhow yup you're suited I completely trust ouy, besides actually everyone is conscious a 360 is greater effective merely beacuse of its video games, no longer something, and the 360's powered is all used, its reached its limits, at a similar time as the PS3's capability hasnt even confirmed its attempt colorings. and a 360 dvd is 8-9GB, at a similar time as a PS3 has blu-ray, whichi is 50GB, so duhh the PS3 is plenty greater enhanced!! and prefer I even have pronounced earlier, I trust you!

I will, I think it's an incredible idea and likely that sort of mass computing will be commonplace in another 10 years or so.

I hope all of them do when they are not using it. (I know this is most unlikely) They should put that cell processor to good use instead of letting it idle and waste power for no reason.
