Everything takes time. It's best if you dont avoid it. Confront it and deal with it. You need to be aware and sure of your pain so you can let go easily. Good luck!

Wouldn't it be great if there was a magic way NOT to feel the pain? Forget it, Hon. It's part of the lessons of life. It just gets easier with every passing day as long as you're putting one foot in front of the other, until you feel whole again. When someone dies, wouldn't it be nice to be able to "fast forward" through the pain? But that's not how it works. Feel the pain, then work on letting it go. Surround yourself with supportive friends or family or both! Do things you always wanted to do, but didn't...because, blah blah blah. Strike up a new hobby! Call an old friend you haven't heard from in years...but DON'T get sucked back in, if you know you must let go.
Get a copy of Melody Beattie's book...."Language of Letting Go". It's been AWESOME in my road to spiritual recovery of ME! (It's written for alcoholics, but applies very much to everyday life and people)......Good luck...but there's no easy way out of this one. But rest assured...you're gonna be OK!

i dont think its easy to let go no matter-especially if you really loved someone-im going through it now-im 2days removed from a 3year realationship and i am feeling pretty bad and want the realationship back in a big way. i know this sounds bad but a new love interest normally makes that hurt go away

When you have deep feelings for someone, no. It's one of those things that you have to go through the process of feeling the pain to healing. Stay encouraged. It won't be like this always. You'll see.

That's why too many people drink and take drugs.

Life is pain. When all the pain is gone your dead.

The trick is to work through the pain.
