Could anyone really ever get you? By that I mean totally understand your way of thinking? I'm not talking in an arrogant intellectual way... i'm talking about our individual views on life and the world and everything! Or are we all incapable of fully understanding other minds outside our own?

My daughter does. And my brother-in-law did (he just died). We actually understood eachother.
I know what you're asking and I think it's quite rare, but a huge part of truly understanding another's mind is to be honest with eachother. You learn to "get" another person by getting to truly know them. However, I think that there are some people that we just click with; who we somehow quickly understand that the way they view the world is similar to yours.

I'm not sure we can fully understand ourselves; at fifty-four i'm still learning more about what makes me tic.
But i've known some friends who seem to understand me better than i do myself, so i'd guess there's a chance, though slim.
