It is a good thing for young people to think about. If they can save themselves pain by learning from their elders' mistakes, so much the better.

A wise man would see what the other person is experiencing and whether good or bad may adjust how they live by the consequence of the experience. If you see a man walk into traffic and get hit by a car...you would learn that you either should not go into traffic...or that if you go into traffic you will get hit by a car. Life is made up of more than one individual life, but of all the lives an individual experiences.

It is true. The more one learns from his/her own mistakes, plus the mistakes of others, the more likely that person is not to repeat those mistakes (by either party).

A good one. You should learn from others mistakes; you will never live long enough to make them all yourself.

I feel that no one pays attention to others mistakes when it comes to their own. They only pay attention to others mistakes so they can judge or ridicule but not to learn from.

well..........
not sure I lke it
It seems a bit lame in it's wording.
Different wording might make me like the quote better.

I think maybe you have it backwards......

Try it this way......

It is easy to look at others , see, and learn from their mistakes.
It takes a wiser man to recongonize and learn from his own mistakes.
