I have just watched the wonderful film 'The Great Escape' on D.V.D.

I now want to build a tunnel in my rather large garden for the noisy kids to play in. It must be like the tunnel in the film. I want them to be able to take their suitcases of toys with them and maybe passports too.

How do you build them? And can I build them so there is a danger that it might cave in on school holidays?

Any tips on how to build one?

I would think to use a lot of bracing for the roof. So there are no cave-ins like in the movie.

I don't know the legality of building a tunnel for the kids but you could build a small cement basement like structure and connect it with culvert pipe to the outside. I have seen grotto's made from rock and cement. They are pretty cool and would look good in your garden . If you do this build SAFETY into it.
