After reading Guard dogs last question I started to wonder is Yahoo answers a cult or an addiction? Do you really think you could stop? Do you need an intervention?

I think it's an addiction.
I'm on here far too much.
I still get an adrenaline rush if I get 'best answer'.
It's pathetic really.

Howdy!
I can't thank you enough for nudging me into trying Yahoo Answers! To me, It's Rewarding and Cool to be able to share what little knowledge I have about birds in the pet section. I love birds, animals, and I have always worked with or had some sort of pet all my life and to know that I may be of help to someone else is a Great Reward all in itself!
I know there are folks that charge Big money for the same answers that are out here in cyber for free; so my advice to any and all is to check Yahoo Answers or ask the Question here First. (Don't get suckered into paying for something that should be Free!) Spread the knowledge you have and share in the reward of helping someone!
The only down fall I have with it right now, is my connection is super slow due to dial up, I'm sure. Eventually we'll have DSL in my area and when we do, I'll be able to be more involved.

So to answer your question......Yes, to me , it is very addictive but well worth it! An Occult, I can't see how that could even be, and as far as needing intervention? Nah, so long as one can still do the things they need to before logging on and keep ones priorities in focus, there should be no need of intervention. ;)
Hooray for Yahoo Answers and to You for Nudging me here! Have a Great Day, I am! :D

I've always enjoyed meeting people. I used to use Yahoo Groups or the chat rooms, and I have met a few really good people through them, but Answers is not a very good way to meet anyone to talk to. That's okay, I'm not an addict and I have a full life, I just like intelligent, humorous discussion. So, unfortunately, I find it lacking...and yes, I could give it up easily.

Very good Question; it is definately an addictive, fun thing. I could stop if I want to though. But I don't want to. Don't think it's a cult, but you never know for sure. mmmmmmmm

When I first got on here last summer, it was somewhat addictive. I stopped for awhile, but decided to get back on. It's only as addictive as you allow it to be.

I think it's great.
I found it when I had to move to Asia for my ol' man's job and felt lonely and isolated.
Now, I feel like I can just hang out and read some funny stuff.
For a bit of time, it's made me feel less blue while I adjust to my new home and language.
