After he hanged, the body was moved to the Dead House in Edinburgh. It is alleged that Burke suffered the same fate that he was guilty of. After taking the corpse to the academy, groups of students were allowed to view the corpse. Mobs of students viewed his naked corpse, eventually he was dissected. Several accounts claim that several pieces were actually smuggled away. I understand any remains left were destroyed as indicative of medical waste in that time.

The site listed below says: "Burke's body was subject to a public dissection by Professor Alexander Monro (1773 - 1859) and curiously a wallet made from his tanned skin remains preserved in the Anatomy Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, along with his death-mask."
