According to the mat when you buy a deck of cards. The section with the brown indicates the monster card zone. So if you were to count those spaces you would end up having 5. So the absolute amount of cards possible to have on the field (your side) is 5 Maximum.

Up to five. If you want 2 lvl 4 monsters on the field at once get the card "Ultimate Offering" if you sacrifice 500 LP you can keep on summoning monsters on the field until you run out of space. Great card in my deck.

Unless the card has a specific card effect for it, you cannot normal summon a monster and tribute it in a tribute summon.

u can summon 5 if there effect let them like if u use marauding captain effect to summon another1 then some another monsterand use 2 cards likecall of the haunted and monster rebron then your field is full you cant summon no more
