Now days everone is tanning. In my point of view you are just asking for skin cancer. Is there anyone out there with me? And if you do go to tanning beds out there will you please tell me why? Is looking good that important to get cancer for it?

They'll pay the price down the line. I think part of the reason is women don't wear stockings anymore, and don't like having pale, pasty legs. Bring stockings back!

I'm naturally white so I enjoy having a nice tan on me. But I don't agree with going to tanning booths. If I want a tan, I'll do some work in the backyard. As for skin cancer, people have been out in the field for centuries, I'll be fine.

I've never been to a tanning bed or would ever go to one. I am with you 100%. It looks ridiculous and increases your chance of getting a deadly disease not to mention sets you up for premature skin aging! Not really my type of "cool"...

Moderate exposure to the sun IS good for your body because it helps activate the vitamin D stored there. However, tanning doesn't provide this benefit due to the concentration of the lights. SO it's not even providing the same benefits as a walk in the sunshine! Thus, there are no positive physical affects of going tanning, only negative ones. If you're going to tan you might as well smoke a cigarette and finish a bottle of vodka while you're at it hahaha...

Not everyone will get cancer from tanning, but you're right - it does put you at risk for cancer and other skin diseases. I think that using a tanning bed makes you look slightly more "fake", rather than receiving a real tan simply from just being outdoors and enjoying physical activity. But each to his own.

I tan because I have psoriasis, a skin condition. Treatment with steroids and other drugs can be unsafe, as well as quite expensive.

I do worry about skin cancer, but I don't know how else to deal with the symptoms.

I'm with you.My neighbor just had skin cancer removed from her temple.Thats the secnd time this month.Cancer is not worth it.A cousin goes to the tanning bed's and won't use sun block. They have been proven to cause more cancer than the sun.

i with ya girl, i give facials and we have a special light that you look at people's skin under and it shows all the damage done by the sun that just hasn't reached the surface yet. If the vane sun worshipers of the world could see whats coming up in their skin they might slow down and use a self tanner if they really see the need for a tan.

Theres alot of pressure now days to look good, That's why many people go to sunbeds to make themself feel better about themselves..

In my opinion It's upto them if they want to use it, Were going to die anyway, I don't see why people should judge them because they do, It's their life.. Let them do as they wish!

You wont always get cancer from Tanning, You can get it at any age, Even IF you don't use a tanning bed.
I agree with someone who posted on here further up, My mum stayed out of the sun and she died at 49 Also.
