The best soccer team country would have to be Brazil. Historicaly they have more World Cup wins then any other team. They have also played in the most World Cups (tied with Germany). Thye have the pretyest soccer in the world, but have mayor problems with teamwork and defense.
After Brazil I would put Italy and Germany. Both with multiple WC wins. Germany always does well in WC. They have also always played well as a team and give 120% effort. Even if they arent that technical good as other countrys like Holand. Italy had a long absence of winning WC from the early part of the century till 1982 and then this past year. However they are the BEST defnsive team and always have been.
The current best team is a though discussion. So much changes from year to year. And WC only get played every 4 years. However since Italy won it last year, untill the European Championship they will have the titel of the best current team in the world.

Germany is the best football nation on earth. It's embedded in their history and have a love for the game. This with finesse and elegance on the field matched with brute defensive force makes German players some of the most feared and respected in the world.

It's Italy not Brasil or Germany. Italy is the best team in the world right now. The other teams are no where near.

Spain and Portugal's teams are pretty good and have some decent young stars.
Also, I know no one wants to give the USA any respect but we've got a great team; we've got a good to great striker in Landon Donovan, an awesome midfielder in Beasley, one of the biggest and best defenders in the whole world in Onyewu, and we have 2 top notch goalies. In the last World Cup, we got robbed against Italy with Beasley's goal which they called offside but after further review it wasn't and then the refs blew it again when we played Ghana. We should've made it out of that group but we got shafted big time.

argentina no doubt. have you seen the wave of brilliant young players from argentina signing for european clubs? argentina in 2010 is going to be amazing.
also, argentina is currently #1 in fifa's rankings.
