I want to extend my pond for my Koi , one reason is that I want to extend my propery and the pond would be too near the footings, the other is that my Koi are getting a bit large now. My question is can I join another liner to the existing one so as to enlarge the pond If I was lucky enough to be able to join them , what would I join them together with.
The liner I have at present is a Pirelli rubber one. Of course I would buy like for like if I knew that I could join them.

I bought my liner at Home Depot. they also sell what they call adhearing edging tape This will basically "adhear" one liner to the other.

I will tell you however, when you put the two together, be sure to over lap the two by about a foot - two feet! and tape on both sides. They also have what smells like a PVC glue. You have to scuff up the rubber bottom side and top side smear this God awful smelly glue and let it dry. Put the two pieces together and tape the edges (I did both sides it isn't required.

The pond is still holding water!

It isn't difficult just be sure someone is there to help you.

Good luck

Go with the commercial pond liner, other types of plastic are too fragile. Also don't use the pond liner without an underpad of some sort. Used carpet backing will work or for small jobs a thick layer of newspaper. Shop around, do some comparison research and also some DIY reading. if you fully understand the process making a pond is not difficult, just a lot of hard work.

You can melt the rubber together to make a larger liner.
It may smell a bit when you do it, but it will work.
Im sure of it.

Try here under splicing supplies. You might want to give them a call to be sure that is will also work with your brand of liner.
