As a Republican, it scares me to death that one of those two might actually get into the Whitehouse!! Would the American people really vote in a man whose acestral ties are with radical islamic terrorists?? And Hilary Clinton is sooooo liberal, we will be losing all moral fiber with her.

If all yoou can do is insult my political standing, then don't bother to answer this question, please.

To Justagirl, my loyalty lies with the republican party because they do not try to strip me of my rights in order to not offend one or two people. I am so very tired of groups like the ACLU and Rainbow Coalition telling me that because of one or two people being offended, my constitutional rights are being infringed upon yet again. And lets not even get started on the Dems need to support the WELFARE NATION with more funding and more charities and more programs to enable the unable.

What part of no insults dont you understand????? Why do you have to make it personal. I was just asking a question. Being a republican does not make me a bad person. I am just an average american, work 40+ hours a week, trying to raise two children and I am tired of supporting welfare and helping those who wont help themselves (NEW ORLEANS being a prime example of those who wont help themselves) I want someone to finally defend my rights, I want to be able to fly the flag, bear arms, educate my children without moral corruption, practice my religion, celebrate my religious holidays (Christmas, Easter) without someone saying they are ofeensive. I want a CHRISTMAS TREE, not a holiday tree, I want the Walmart clerk to be able to say "Merry Christmas" without getting into trouble. I want to be able to say have a Happy Easter, not spring holiday. This is a christian nation, born of christian values, and I am tired of people trying to change that!!!!!

Considering the possibility that Hilary may win the Democratic vote, Obama will run as an Independant and split the vote (Obama will probably even get some of the right wing vote). If that happens, neither will see the Oval office. Personally, I would love to see a split vote, because I think that a 3 party system would be the best cure for a pretty dirty political field right now. While I'm not ready to jump on with Obama, some conservatives are and that may make the next race pretty interesting. I think the Republicans need to counter with someone who has proven himself to be a great economist and who still stands strong on the idea that government shouldn't be given to much control over the lives of the American population. Someone who people can trust... We haven't seen that in either party's Presidential candidates in a very long time.

Right now, from polls as reported on the news from ABC it appears that pairings of each of the Democratic front runners with the Republican front runners and the Democrats have the election sewn up. Things can change but if the trend continues we could actually see a President called Madam President or the first person of color in the White House. Times change and we have to live with it. I remember back in 1960 when people were saying that if John F. Kennedy got elected that there would be a hotline straight to the Vatican. Of course that did not happen and America's first Catholic President did alright for himself. It is too bad that his life was cut short by an assassin.

Mr. Obama may have had ancestors that were also anscestors of some sort of Islamic kook fundie but I had ancestors on the side of the South in the civil war. That doesn't mean I have to agree with them or give the rebel yell every now and again. The same would apply to Mr. Obama.

If you have done any ancestral research you might be surprised at what you find in the way of who your ancesters were way back centruies ago. There were likely some rogues and some royals as well as ordinary farmers or shop keepers. Twenty generations ago an ancestor of mine was a king in France. Does that make me a king? My wife has an ancestor that was a murderer but she is not a murderer. So to compare Mr. Obama with his ancestors is just unfair.

Fear of the unknown can bring people to make statements or charges based on extreme lack of knowledge we should never fall into that trap.

True Democratic presidents have done little for the people while in office. It's after their term is over that they seem to get motivated. As far as I can see. Obama has no chance of winning. So if he does run.....any decent Repubican candidate should win against him. Clinton does have a lot of positive attributes. So she might have a chance.
As a general rule,I dislike all political figures for the very reasons that make them want to run for office in the first place.....For me a candidate being Dem or Reb is all here nor there
I concentrate instead on how effective/ineffective a political position is on the majority of the USA and the world. I feel it's more important to distinguish justice, social/political truths, and facts from rhetoric, propaganda and special interest.

First, off what do you know about either candidate?

Probably not much, so you're judging on a purely political basis. Which while very stupid, is probably how everyone else makes their decision.

Obama, I belive, has a legitimate shot. He's slowly building name recognition and his campaign could end up generating a lot of momentum before it's all said and done with.

Where as Rudy and McCain have been steadily losing steam. And I don't think Romney can win w/o the conservative Christian vote and I'm not so sure they'd want to elect a practicing Mormon.

I also am a Republican conservative, but feel that unless we see someone (Romney?) get a little bit stronger backing from the general public, it may very well be one of the two you named. i will tell you thins, I rember in the last election how Republicans who felt their candidate was not electable crossed party lines to vote for Senator Lieberman, keeping him in office.
It would not surprise me to see the same thing in a way if the choice were perceived to be between Hillary and Obama. I have such a deep seated disgust of Hillary that *I* would cross and vote for Obama if I knew it would help keep that thief out of office.

I'm not going to insult your political standing. But I do suggest you write your concerns about Obama and Clinton in a more intellgent and objective manner.

-Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim. He has no ties with radical terrorists.

- Not all Muslims are terrorists, as you seem to imply.

- For someone who doesn't want their political standing "insulted", you seem to have no problem insulting liberals by saying Clinton is so liberal we would lose all moral fiber. Most liberals are moral. Just because they disagree with you politically, doesn't give you the right to to say otherwise.

Obama has ancestral ties with radical Islam?
That is one of the most dishonest things I've seen, ever!
Pulling something out of thin air, slipping it into a sentence, and pretending it's a fact doesn't do a whole lot for your position.

And to answer your question, whoever the Democratic candidate is,they're gonna bury the Republican.

As long as Republicans continue to endorse the war in Iraq, the probability that Clinton or Obama will win the Election- increases.

There is always a chance. But I don't think the silent majority would ever put this country at that kind of risk by electing one of those two kooks.
The Dems could however pull off the largest election fraud since LBJ got elected to the senate thou.
You libs LBJ got more votes than there were voters.
