ex:if someone said the glass was half full i would have to say or is it half empty and the other way around

it depends of the glass was never full to begin with , if u poured a glass half way up with milk then its half full, if u had a full glass of milk and drank half of then it its half empty

The volume of the contents in the glass populates half of the entire volume of the inside of the glass.
But I usually just drink out of a water bottle to avoid the question entirely.
