Maybe they think..by attending holy gatherings n bible studies...they will learn something that will make them stop commiting adultery...or some might even think...just cause jesus died for their sins its ok to sin n then go the church n confess...there are different kinds of people around the world...some with morals, some without, and some who are look for guidance ...something that could make their heart click and they could stop..

Are we talking about adultery, fornication, homosexuality, or what? I'm confused because this question is posted in the GLBT section yet I fail to see the connection between homosexuality and adultery...
If you're asking about adultery (where one person in a committed relationship - i.e. married - cheats on their partner - i.e. spouse), then the answer should be obvious. People attend religious gatherings such as mass and Bible studies because a) they want to keep up appearances of as a loving partner, b) they feel bad about what they've done and have come to repent, or c) they simply do care.
And I'm not sure why any of this confuses you - whether you are conservative or liberal, adultery has been going on since the beginning of time, it's nothing new. Neither is keeping up appearances or failing to care.

What is adultery ?? Apart from anything unlawful immoral or damaging, toward a minor or someone vulnerable who does not or cannot consent to sharing adult sexual activities? Don't get washed away with religious mind control on gulit trip stuff. You have seven 'chakras' and one of them is your sexual chakra. You need to strive to bring these into harmony and cannot if you're all bound up in some misguided moral anguish which shouldn't exist. Consenting adults sharing mutual intimate pleasure is perfectly OK and very normal. Very healthy in fact so stop worrying and join in the fun !!

The Bible does say "judge not, lest yea be judged as well". See, everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. If you know without a shadow of a doubt that the person next to you has been doing the mattress mambo with someone else, well, it's really none of your business. Why? Because it's not your job or even your right (according to the Bible) to judge anyone for what they do or don't do.

The first answer is correct, it is hypocrisy.
For some of the people who answered. I am in a 20 year monogamous same-sex relationship and if my spouse had sex with someone, despite not being married, I and most of my friends would definitely consider it adultery.
Anyone no matter what sex or orientation, who is in a monogamous relationship and cheats is committing adultery. Lying to themselves and saying because they are not married legally, doesn't change the fact it is still hypocrisy .

I suppose if one went to confession, did your 45 hail Marys, got a clean sheet, then you would be free to s##g around because forgiveness is only a week away when your back in the box. Apart from that I have no suggestions. Sorry.

And they are normally the first ones to belittle some one else for something.
People see the wrong in others lives easier than the wrong in their own life!

OK, but why are you posting this on the LGBT site? Surely you meant to post this in the "religion" area or the "dating" area, right?
Perhaps you forgot that due to the bigotry of some in this land, and state-sponsored marriage rights discrimination, LGBT people cannot marry.
Only when all US citizens can equally marry one other unrelated person of age, and then some choose to have sex outside of such marriages, could you call LGBT sex adultery.
If this is what you are doing, I suggest you hold your judging tongue until then.

because as shakespeare put it All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages basically everyone changes according to what part they play we all do it some more than others.
