The bathroom door has a lock on the inside, but only a pin hole on the outside. It was accidentally locked and now I can't open it. Any ideas?

I had this happen numerous times when my children were small. I took a meat skewer......it is long, skinny, and pointed....and pushed it into that tiny hole and that released the lock. If you don't have a skewer find something that fits the description and use it instead. I wonder if that ink container inside a ball point pen would work?

Get a long thin object like a corsage pin, straightened bobby pin, or ice pick; put it in the opening, and you will feel resistance a couple of inches in. It may take a few tries, but you should find a spot that is spring-loaded and can be pushed in slightly. When you find it, push it in, and turn the handle. You should be able to open the door at that point.

Use a toothpick or thin nail to "pop" the lock through the little hole in the door handle. You insert the toothpick or nail in the hole and feel for a metal bar then push, you will hear a loud click or a pop then the door will be unlocked.

take a stiff wire about the size of an old coathanger or a long pin type object that fits into the hole. It takes a couple times but push in till you feel a small button depress and the knob will turn. You have to feel your way in there its a little tough but can be done. Should be dead center.

Use a hairpin (bobby-pin). Just open it and stick it in until you find the thing to push or turn. It works for me all the time.
