I know I'm not a guy, but I am black, and you don't have to live up to anyone's ideal "level of blackness." I have been told so many times by my family members that I "talk white" or that I am an "oreo." I love the person I am, and you know what? I like a lot of rock music too, but that does not make me less of a person. It just makes me more well rounded. You are not weird. You are just a beautiful person that God put a lot of thought and expectation into.

I think if you're hot any guy will like you. I'm into that music and a lot of other styles, I would date black girls but most of the black girls I know unfortunately don't have similar taste. If you do then you're probably fine.

Rock on girlfriend you are definitely not weird and I am rooting for you...whoever YOU CHOOSE TO BE. ITS CALLED PERSONAL FREEDOM. AND YOU ARE NOT A RACIST GIRL AT ALL. Congratulations for getting out of the box. I personally broke down my walls and am a better human being for doing so. Listen to your heart...dont listen to your family. You are not 'less black' like they say! You live for yourself only...not for other people remember that. I dislike stereotypes a lot. People stereotype me all the time. I am sick of it. They are just ignorant thats all. TAKE CARE AND I LOVE YOU.

Do what makes you feel good and happy... I am told the same thing.(just not emo) A lot of ppl expect all black girls to act ghetto, and listen to rap and hip hop. Just because your different for the average doesn't make you weird.

You ask this question why ? are you uncomfortable with it ? are you making a deliberate attempt to deny your culture ?..

Many blacks ( or whites ) who do assimilate to popular stereo-types of the opposite race are making a specific effort to "fit in " with that race or culture..

ie: Rapper-Hip Hop Star - Eminem - DOES NOT seem to Rap to neglect his "white culture" ..nor does he do it, coz he wishes to "fit in " with Blacks.... but instead he's Genuine. A real fan of that music. - Period ! ..in other words - he's real !

Being a music fan does not determine whether you are weird or not - You just like a certain music.
Millions of Blacks love Rock Acid Drum Bass etc..
there have been "Black Artist " Singer Writers etc.. of Rock :

ie; Jimmy Hendrick is a BLACK MAN who is legendary in Rock music.

The lead singer of " Thin Lizzy " was a Black man they had numerous ROCK Hits in the 70's..including " The Boys are back in town"

The Lead singer of "Fine young Cannibals" a 80's Rock group.
IN FACT:
ALL OF The members of " Living Coulour " were black and they were a 90's rock group.

blacks can enjoy any form of music that pleases their ears.

Dont "Act like a fan " just to get white friends...you'll be very hurt in the end.

YOU GOT TO ALWYS BE """ REAL """

Not at all. But I hate when ppl seperate the 'emo's and the goth's and the punk's and the weirdos/freaks/outcast ect.' They're ALL sterotypes...but they're pretty much the same. I should know. I've got friends in each 'catagory' and we don't veiw eachother as diff....so, I myself don't think it;s weird.

Just because your black doesn't mean you have to act a certain way. I'm mixed (black and white) and people are always harassing me cuz they
1.think I want to act black (I'm more white than black), or
2. they think that I want to be white, (no matter where I go someone always jubs it in).
I just leave them in their own world cuz there just jealous of my good looks and talent, maybe that's the same problem your having, jealousy.

No...I dont think it is weird...Everybody like you said has different stereotypes on what black people should dress like and what white people should dress like and its a bunch of BS to me! Everybody has different personalities and different likes and dislikes and I dont think that anybosy should care what anyone else is wearing. You do what you want girl!!! and if people say f-ed up things to you...tell them to f-off!!! haha...I think its cool that you like those stores!
