this is a question purely because Im curious...does anyone with any knowledge of engineeering or archictecture, think that there could theoretically be a road link between Dover and Calais? A road tunnel perhaps? or even a suspension bridge? a suspension bridge would really be something! Is it scientifically possible ( I think the distance is about 19 miles )?

like I said I have no reason to want to know this, its just the wonderings of an idle mind lol

would be quite interested to find out

There already is a tunnel under the English Channel connecting England and France. It's called the Chunnel and it has been open for perhaps 15 years. One of the scenes in the the movie "Mission Impossible II" was famously set in the Chunnel.
