Yes, I have. I have one very good friend, we even talk on the phone. It was a guy that I met through a yahoo chat room and somehow we just clicked. We thought about dating and meeting in person, but we live on opposite ends of the country. In the end, we just became very good friends, have been for almost 2 years now.
I have a couple of good acquaintances (thanks to myspace and yahoo 360) but I don't sit and chat online anymore to make good friends with other people. I hardly use my messenger anymore, and even so, I only have 8 ppl on my friends list. I mostly write on forums now instead. I guess I don't have time to uphold meaningful online relationships with ppl anymore.
I think it's possible to meet nice ppl online. You just have to look hard enough. A lot of ppl like to act tough and mean because you can be whatever you want online. I don't recommend chatrooms though. Although I met one very good friend in one, it's the only good friend that I have from a chat room. There are way too many ignorant and rude mofos in them! Just when you add someone to a friends list, make an effort to get to know them. You might be surprised!

Yes I have... we talked on the internet for a year before we met. Now three years later we just got married in January.
However, not every story ends up like mine. Please be careful if you're considering meeting someone you've talked to online. There are a lot of crazy people out there!

Yes. I met a very good Christian girlfriend when we were doing a Bible Study together. We have been corresponding for four years and talking on the phone. She lives in Canada and I live in Texas. We are very close and I thank God for her.

Yes, and I married him nearly a month ago. No kidding.
We "knew" each other for a couple of years and met a few times beforehand, though, and we're not even from the same country.

Yep. Hard to imagine I'm capable of loving someone if you ask someone I met in real life, but I love this guy to death.
