Bottem element is bad. First, turn off the breaker going to the stove or unplug it. Then with most models, you can open the oven door slightly till it catches, then remove the door by lifting up on it. Remove old element by taking out the two screws that hold it to the back of the oven. pull out a little and you'll see two wires attached. They will either have screws holding them onto the element or wire connectors. Unscrew or unplug it and take it to your local appliance parts store for an exact match. Installing is just the reverse. Sounds complicated but it really isn't. About a 20-30 minute job.

If the bottom coil unplugs when you pull it out, then pull it out and bring it to an appliance repair store so they can check it and sell you a replacement.

If it doesn't go in a socket it is bolted on from the back. You need to unplug the oven and take the back off to remove the screw or bolt holding that part in. Then bring it to an appliance store for checking and replacement.

It is probably about $35 for a replacement part. It then either goes back in there by plugging or slips in and is secured from the back by the opposite of what you did to get it out.

The wires to the coil might be burnt. Pull the coil out and make sure you have a good connection after you disconnect the stove. You can also test the coil with a continuity tester which costs about five bucks

You can get a new heating element for around $15 from an appliance repair place and either they will install it for you, or save the money on the service call and do it yourself.

Coils burn out. It isn't hard to replace them. Call an electrical parts company and give them the make and model to see if they have the replacement.
