I am a liberal (actually a new age organic vegetarian tree hugger). I am officially retiring on June 1, 2007 (39 more working days). I have saved and invested my way to be able to confront "affluent retirement". Many of my friends, of all political orientations, seek me out for financial advice.
I once played the lottery with my son, when he was 14, so we could together explore the mathematics of this form of random voluntary taxation.
Your question (if you are serious) belies an ignorant and small mided cultural bias. I would gladly offer my financial consulting advice to even a person as hopeless as you.
BTW, I plan to donate some of my $$ to the Barack Obama campaign!!!!!

Of course you are prepared to back this up with EVIDENCE that is WELL DOCUMENTED. Or is this more of the clap trap from conservative hate radio or faux news? I know many more liberals who are invested in the stock market than I do conservatives and by the way I do know several conservatives that by lotto tickets every week. So your lies and false accusations just don't ring true.

I think you may have just won the award for the most empty-headed question ever asked on YA. Congratulations!
FYI: I buy Lotto tickets because our Social Security fund has been so mismanaged that there likely will be nothing left by the time I retire.

I think you are mistaken. I live in NC, and you know we have not had the lottery that long, and I see people of all types purchasing lottery tickets. The big suprise to me though, is on Sunday mornings before and after Church, the amount of Church goers lining up to buy them.
And we know most Southern Baptists are Republicans.

The more important point is that liberals should be screaming out loud AGAINST lotteries cause it is a huge tax on the poor.
ITS evil. Unconstitutional. And stupid.
Libs and Cons BOTH should be pulling their elected officials hair out to end it.

Whoever told you most liberals play the lottery was lying to you.

Obviously, you're not a liberal so how would you know what they think or what they do? Is your opinion supposed to be accepted as fact?
