Below is the math problem and the some of my work. I can't seem to get past log[x^2] = 5 . Did I even do any of this correctly? Please tell me how to solve this. It's been driving me crazy.

Thank you!

5 + 2log(x) = 10
2 log(x) = 5
log(x^2) = 5
x^2 = 10^5 = 100,000
x = 100 sqrt(10) = 316.228

hey. once you're at log(x^2) = 5. you could take 10^log(x^2) = 10^5

because that is the inverse log function. so 10^log(x^2) = x^2

so you get x^2 = 10^5 and x = 10^(2.5)

Some people tend to write 'log' even when they are using the natural log or any other base of log. I am assuming that you are using log (base 10). If you are using log base 5 or any other number, then instead of 10^5, you would get 5^5 (or n^5, where n is the base of the log)

Hope that helps

5 + 2log[x] =10

2 log[x] = 10 - 5

2 log[x] = 5

log[x] = 5/2

10^log[x] = 10^5/2 (use power 10 both sides
to find x)

x = 316.227

verification:

5 + 2log[316.227] = 10

5 + 4.999 = 10
9.999 = 10

2 log(x) = 10-5 =5

log x =5/2 = 2.5

x = 10^2.5 =316.27

check with the calculatrice. It works

5 + 2log[x] = 10

now subtract 5

2log[x]=5

divide by 2

log[x]=5/2

raise both sides to the 10 power

10^(log[x])=10^(5/2)

10^(log[x]) cancels to be x

x= 10^(5/2)

x= sqrt(10^5)

sqrt means Square root

see you get log x^2 = 10-5

log x^2= 5

x= antilog 2.5

hence x = 316.22 thats it

This is an easy one!
^2x equals 3 right?
multiply across the numbers and you get 316.228

ok...so im not good at explaining but i just know im right
im really good at math.

proceed
log(x^2)=5
x^2=10^5
x=10^2.5=100*10^(1/2)
