I'll be willing to put money on the fact that everyone dissing us for hating them was at the oldest a junior in high school. tweens have no identity of their own so they listen to what mtv tells them to. and mtv is just looking to make money. and for all those who say they are good, back in the days of REAL rock people of all age groups would unite around a band, not just teenage girls and guys who only buy clothes from abercrombie and hollister. and their lyrics are all a bunch of horseshit. you want to hear real lyrics, you have to go back a couple decades. morons.

you're right on with this question. i'm in high school, but i haven't been dumb enough to fall for what society tells me to listen to, i listen to what is truely good music.

EDIT: I love the person below me. After reading my post, the second sentence says that she is 14, which follows exactly what I said above. She says she's really smart, which i question considering she just proved my point. Plus, I also really smart, and I'm almost going to college, so I'm not in that middle-school, follow the trend age. Intelligence won't prove that Fall Out Boy is a good band. I could argue this all day, but the truth is that more people hate them than like them. You never see people making questions critizing some of the great older bands (Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, The Who came in mind). Why? Because the people who like Fall Out Boy only listen to new music. They aren't like us, who have listened to all types of music before deciding what is best. they have just listened to modern, crappy pop rock, and decided they like it without giving everything else a chance. If they did, then they would realize why FOB truthfully is a terrible band and will never come close to measuring up to the great bands of the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Anyone posting supporting Fall Out Boy has no right to post unless they have extensively listened to music of different periods and then made an educated, open-minded decision of what is really good music. Almost everyone who has done that ends up liking the same music we do. Sorry guys, but Fall Out Boy is just a trend - they will never, ever have the lasting influence like Bob Dylan, The Doors, etc, that have shaped music for generations.

Fall Out Boy is not pathetic, crappy, or gay. I am only 14 and I make all A's and have a lot of common sense an I love them. If you would ever get the lyrics to one of their more deeper songs, like golden, and don't listen to the music. It is so touching. Considering your name is coochie hunter, I think that you are the one who has very little intelligence.

Crappy gay bands like Fall Out Boy who sing off key and bang on their instruments make it big because gay people think it sounds good because they don't know what real music is. Plus there are the people out there who think "OMG that guy is so hot and he's on TV/Radio!" And society has developed this new classification called "emo", quite pathetic really.

It's partially due to expectations of society. For example: Your best friend loves Fall Out Boy, but you're not so partial to it, how ever, if all your friends listen to it, you might listen to it to, just to fit in.

It's also because people have such low expectations for music these days. What ever "sounds good" to them is what ever they'll listen to. People usually don't have any regard as to what the actual musical composition of a song is, or anything beyond how "awesome" or "amazing" it sounds. Their musical mechanics are as tired and predictable as their lyrics.
