It will not change their doom and gloom. The beauty of the Global Warming they believe in is that it can be used to explain any possible weather event. If there are more hurricanes it is global warming if there are fewer than usual it is still global warming.

The number of hurricanes that make landfall does not have any bearing on whether the planet is overall warmer than ever measured - that still exists. So no.
And since the overall planet IS warmer than ever before - they should not STFU.
The number of hurricanes overall is expected to be higher - but whether those hit land is less predictable.
