Once ive been driving for about five minutes or so, everytime i accelerate it makes a kinda grinding, scraping noise?
its not the fan belt.. got that replaced.

On the 1966 Volkswagon, the upper carrier member bushings.....

Transmission, U-joints, axle, wheel bearings...You need to run it down a little more than "kinda grinding, scraping" to know what's wrong.

That is hard to diagnose without hearing it. It could be something simple or something expensive. Take it somewhere and let them look at it. That way you know where you stand. Good luck

SOmething in the drivetrain. Meaning, brakes, or axles, or even transmission, or a cover got bumped into something that rotates.

sounds like something to do witht he suspention or drive train

might want to check the body peices and see if any have lost a screw making them flap around also
