Ricky Ponting. He is the most destructive batsman around. A rare thing in being that he is captain and good at one day and test cricket. The most complete technical player in the book. Batting at number 3 in tests is the most difficult position, as you could be in in 5 minutes, or 5 hours. He always appears ready. Super player.

Tough one to call, but I'll have to go with Ponting. He's about as close as you can get top being a complete player. He has wonderful ability with the bat, able to change his game as required whilst still showing classic technique, a brilliant captain, superb fielder in the slips or in the outfield, and carries himself with great distinction.
And I'm English!!!

My favourite all round player would by Ricky Ponting, a superb batsman, and amazing fielder and a decisive and smart captain.
