Well it might be in Saudi Arabia if the chicken's been blessed and killed in a certain way but it's probably only blessed in the UK by people coming out of pubs and clubs with the munchies to find KFC is open!

First and foremost, no matter what food you eat in any part of the world (considering that the food is not pork or is not forbidden in Islam) if you say the words "In the name of God, the most gracious and the most merciful" before eating it, the food technically is halal as it renders the food permissible. In Saudi Arabia, it is a requirement to have the food cooked in a manner that is equivalent to "halal." This is why the chicken has to be slaughtered in the name of God and nothing else. It could not be electrocuted or killed in any other manner as blood is forbidden, which brings us to the conclusion that KFC has to be halal if it is within the Saudi borders.

These fast-food restaurants are most definitely not halal. It would say so if it was, and such fast-food restaurants would never be halal. "Halal" is not on the minds of the CEOs of these companies. They could really care less actually. Unless, of course, you are eating there in a Muslim country. Then it is most probably halal. If it will make money, then the CEOs would consider special food adjustments and treatment. For example, in Muslim countries, there wouldn't be any Bacon Cheeseburgers or the like, so to still build on revenue, they will have to invent more foods to have a wider variety of selection to appeal to the Muslim population. Good luck sister! PS -- I have to admit I just had McDonalds for the first time in a loong time yesterday because we were coming back from the beach and it was on the way. Besides it not being halal, it is extremely unhealthy, so I felt like a pig eating there.

What's halal? Try this:
1. Eat a bucket of chicken.
2. Poop in a KFC paper bag.
3. Set it on your friend's doorstep, set the bag on fire, then ring the doorbell and run!
4. Hide behind something and watch.

It really just goes to show that people can justify things to themselves if they want to! If he thinks its OK then it must be (to him)...Knowing what we do these days about fast food etc he'd be much better off with a healthy choice option.
