Depends on genetics. It runs rampant in both sides of my family and I have had symptoms from about the age of 16. But you might want to see a DR and find out if it is arthritis, and he can help you with a preventive course of action.

Arthritis? Most people think of arthritis as an 'old-age' disease where your joints get achy in the cold. However children and those in middle age also get arthritis symptoms.
There are many different types of arthritis, but we most commonly see is:
Osteoarthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis
Gouty arthritis
Sero-negative inflammatory arthritis.
There are others, but the vast majority will fall into one of the big four.

It does not matter how old a person is to determine when they get arthritis. Arthritis like most illness does not discriminate. I work in health care and I've seen teenagers diagnosed with some form of it.

Babies and toddlers can be diagnosed with juvenile osteoarthritis. There are at least 117 types of arthritis.
