Definitely Magic: the Gathering. The original and best. All others are rip off of it. Yugioh has a too limited movepool, problems in life points, takes no skills at all, extremely messed up, and I should know as I play it quite frequently. I don't really know much of the rest though.

I would say Magic is the most popular card game, with a million or something players, but I would say that, in my opinion, Yugioh is best.

Yugioh takes a bit more strategy, but is easy to pick up and start playing. Magic is more based on luck, because if you do not get any land cards, especially in the beginning of the game, you are at a HUGE disadvantage.

Also, Yugioh has almost an unlimited amount of deck themes, which allows you to personalize your deck alot. Another reason yugioh is awesome is that yugioh has a t.v. show dedicated to the card game, which lets you develop a better understanding of the game, it lets you create great strategies, and it has a somewhat good entertainment value. The other card games do not have a show based on the card game, so that is another point for yugioh! One downside about yugioh is its first season, which does not teach hte viewers the correct way to play, but its second season fixes that mistake up.

Lastly, there are sometimes free promo yugioh cards packaged with Shonen Jump magezine, which can allow you to be the envy of your friends, at least until they figure out where you are getting the cards.

Shadowfist! Without a doubt.
Reasons:
1) No banned cards
2) No set rotation
3) Game works for 2 player and is even better multiplayer.
4) Very friendly community
5) Most cards needed in competitive decks are common, not rare.
6) New set coming out this summer at Origins
7) What's not to like about gun-totin' heroes fighting kung fu shaolin monks, eunuch sorcerers, disgusting demons, slavering abominations, transformed animals, and CYBORG GORILLAS!

Magic is by far the best card game. The stragety of it makes it a challenging game. But there is also a simplicity to some of the machanics of the game making it easy to start playing. I have played magic, pokemon, Dragonball z, and yu-gi-oh and i have stayed playing one of those games and it is magic.

It replaced into very everyday back interior the early 1800's and is now merely coming back like gang busters !!! reliable success !

Magic the gathering by far, but it is too complex for younger kids (I would recommend for ages 14+).
