He wants to see if he still "has it" and can still get you back if he wanted to. It's his ego. Maybe he does miss certain things about your relationship, maybe he realizes that he made a mistake. Or, he may feel bad about how it ended, and now that so much time has passed, feels it is time to get on a friendly basis with you again. Who knows? I would definitely play it cool. There were reasons you two broke up and those issues will probably still be problems for you now. Show him that you have moved on, as being happy is the best revenge. Good luck.

Because many are jerks.
Quit talking to him. My daughter dated a guy who is nortorious for calling up old girlfriends when he thinks they are between boyfriends. He put her through hell when they were together. No way would I have sat still and let him do it to her again.
Run don't walk away from this jerk.

because thats how MOST men are.... when they lose something good or leave it for something thats better (at the time) and then when they are alone or want back what they had that was good they try and salvage and do whatever it takes to get that back....
he probably realizes now that you were the best or better part of his life and wants that back... but TRUST is the big thing, i wouldnt give him the time of day unless he earns your trust... if he really wants you back hell ditch the bimbo hes with and spend every waking minute of the day trying to win your heart back again... but i think he is one of them guys just looking for something that you had or gave that the present one doesnt have or give, so tell him to F*** off

oddly enough...I think it's genetic...we're pigs...
ex of over 3 years...that he only stopped talking to you 5 months ago is amazing to me...
my apologies on behalf of the male species...now drop kick this loser...ask him just how much he misses you when he's with his new girlfriend...preferably in a large public place...after dropping something so every ones watching...then just walk away....tears would help...if 20 guys don't get up and beat him to a pulp...it's just wrong

Being jerks is embedded in their genes, but really, some are incapable of monogomy. Tell him you are not interested .You would not want to be in his current girlfriend's shoes.

he misses the good that you had. if y'all broke up because the bad outweighed the good, than ignore him. it sounds like he still has some growing up to do though. i say stay away.
