stereotypes have to come from somewhere. of course that doesnt mean all models are stupid, SOME are intelligent ppl, but alot of them are just stupid cr@ck wh0res so thats why they dont have a very good rep. ppl tend to make generalizations about all kinds of ppl all the time, so get used to it!

People usually find some way to insult those who are seen as better off or more successful (ever have an odd dislike for the "popular" clique at your school, only to end up sitting next to one of them in class and discover they're actually not that bad at all?) it's more of a self defense mechanism than anything. Pitiful, yes, but true.
And on the other hand. Some models are just stupid and ignorant, along with arrogant and narcistic. My other theory is that they just give the rest a bad rep =P

Its a common perspective. I guess people think that models spend so much time being told how to look, or checking on how they look in the mirror- they must become ignorant and stupid- believing that looks are all that matters in their world. However this is not always true, many models are intelligent and kind people. Its also so easy for people to hate models as they often have a certain something thats unattainable. If you see what I mean.

most are thought of that way because when people just look at the models, they seem like brainless robots without opinions. People dont take the time to actually look into the models background and some of the things they are involved in.

My wife modeled for 15 years, mostly runway modeling as in fashion shows, but she also did tv commercials and print ads. She is very intelligent and a super nice, down to earth, friendly person. She then became a Regional Trainer for a large corporation and handled the entire southeast for the company. Models are just like everyone else. They are each individuals with different personalities and values. You can't judge someone just by what they do for a living.

Well, watch America's Top Model! These are not people who are prized for their intellects or their ability to read. They may be talented, creative, ambitious, tough, gorgeous, and malnourished, but generally, they are not well-educated nor very interested in being intelligent. But, lack of intelligence doesn't make you a bad person!

Well, it's probably referring to the blonde and beautiful..they are supposed to be stupid..but they aren't (maybe because their jobs are just to walk up and down the runway) and so you're right. I'm pretty sure some are intelligent.

that's either because people only see one side of the model, or their jealous. people want to think the models are stupid so they feel better about themselves.

I think people are jealous of them and look for something to criticize. It is an easy cop out to call someone you don't even know "stupid," especially when calling a model "ugly" probably wouldn't work.
