It won't engage untill it reaches minimum "low" pressure.

If you don't get every bit of air and moisture out of the system before you add freon, it's not going to work very well. Jusy go ahead and add the freon while watching the low side pressure. When you get some in the low pressure switch will let the compressor start up.

you have to evacuate the system first and then put the freon in and then the compressor will come on, the low pressure switch is keeping the compressor off now because the system is to low.

With the A/C OFF is the pulley actual turning or is it frozen up ? whether that's frozen the bearings are undesirable and that's pulled with particular A/C puller set,it would desire to turn ! and it would desire to have the belt working over it,shorter belt isn't routed precise to run different acc. If it basically does it on an analogous time as A/C is on the compressor is frozen and would desire to get replaced.

either you lost its charge or the clutch is bad have it checked. in order to re charge it you have to put in into a vaccum or your just wasting freon.that is a vac pump must suck all the air out
