to be a waitress/server? Do you think certain people fit the job and others don't. What qualities, personality traits, etc do good waitress tend to have?

Don't answer w/ the ability to be good server? Or about how they perform on the job, I'm purely talking about the internal qualities a person needs or has as a server.

You must enjoy working with the public. A lot of patience and stamina. A good sense of humor. Good timing is helpful. I waitressed for 12 yrs. when I was younger. I enjoyed it, but as I got older I realized their was no future in it. I went to night school and changed professions. It can be fun and you can make living.

Patience, patience, patience with stupid and rude people. The ability to internalize how much you hate who you're waiting on and just paste a smile on your face. And being graceful under pressure and outgoing. And interpreting how people see YOU so you can work with THEIR personalities.

Outgoing, nice, you have to pay attention to detail like when someone needs more coffee, people really hate it when there drinks arent refilled. It doesnt take too much. Pretty much the nicer and more outgoing you are the more money youll make, and thats the point.
