It depends on what city and state and it also depends on where you work.
Retail pharmacy technicians (like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc.) don't make very much compared to technicians that work in a hospital.
I have been a pharmacy technician for almost 5 years now. I work in a hospital pharmacy and I'm the Pyxis administrator for my hospital (I'm only 21!). A Pyxis machine holds all the medications (tablets, oral suspensions, IV fluid, etc). I make $16.70 an hour and I get a raise every year. I don't think it's a very hard job, but others might not agree. It can be very stressful and very tiring.

Overall average salary is about $12 per hour, with very little room for advancement. It can be a stressful job.

Where do you guys live? i only make 8.50 /hr as a tech well i will get a raised of 10.5 soon but its hard to get hospital jobs here i work in retail and it sucks. i work like dog.
