...you lived with them?

I know I do. My mom and I bickered and fought constantly until i moved out. Now shes my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her. I hate the fact that she lives 2 hrs away, would love to see her anytime I wanted to.

Yes, I fought with my folks all the time also. A couple of years before my mother passed away, we finally started to get along. I just wish that we could have been friends all along.
Keep your family close, and spend as much time with them as possible because you never know when they will go forever!

No, I don't. When I lived with my mom, She pretty much left me alone unless she needed something. (She is disabled) but I think she felt secure knowing I was there. I haven't lived with her in 14 years, but now even tho we found her a great apartment in an elder/disabled complex, with good neighbors, close to my brothers house, she is constantly calling here, and demanding I take her everywhere, and solve all her problems. I work, and my sister in law doesn't, and they live 2 miles away, and I live 15 miles away. My sister in law is willing and able to help out, but mom still only calls me. It drives my husband nuts. I spend more time arranging her schedule and doing things for her then I do for my kids.

I like your way of thinking.

Once they are gone there is nothing there to tell you what kind of child you are accept the memories you have of the times you spent together not arguing.

Of course, as they get older you may find yourself not being their friend and being their guardian instead. So enjoy your frindhip while it lasts.

Not really. My parents seem to be harder to get along with the older they get. It might just be me, but my brothers seem to feel the same way.

I no. My dad died when I was 2 years of age. My mother... well... I love her. Way across the country from me.

usually once you get married you get along better with your parents because they are waiting for you to produce a grandchild for them.
