And, unfortuantly, I have no partner. I'm the only stag person in the group, which means that I get to dance with my teacher. However, here is my quandry; how do you recommend that I practice? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You don't say how old you are. If you are an adult- go social dancing. It is the best practice when you're just starting out. You will get to dance with many different people of all levels, this will help you to learn following as well as provides an opportunity to keep the steps fresh in your memory.
In the mean time, keep searching for a partner. Social floor might actually be a good place - this is where many ballroom dancers go once they are out of partnership for whatever reason, and many people just dance socially and never partner up with anyone in particular.

If you're too young for socials - try going to different ballroom class in addition to the one you're taking. You might find someone there.

Practice on your own in your studio. Not only you will be working on your dancing, you will be making yourself visible to potential partners. By doing so you are stating that you want to learn and you are working on it.

Simple steps you can practice on your own, but you really will need a partner to do more than just the basics. Are there other classes at the ballroom where you are taking lessons? You may be able to find a partner there even if there isn't one in your current class.
