Did you fit the new alternator yourself? Check how tight the fan belt is.
Not tight enough and the belt will slip and cause a horrible screeching noise. Too tight will put strain on the alternator bearings and cause the alternator to whine.

What kind of an idiot tells people to spray oil on fanbelts?
If the belt has a spring loaded tensioner, all you can do is make sure you know what's causing the noise. If it really is the alternator, they might have sold you one with bad bearings. If the belt is manually adjusted, they might have gotten it too tight.

If it's the alternator itself making the noise then you are probably going to need it repairing or replacing. I'd take it to your local auto electrician - if he's anything like mine he'll be very very helpful and not rip you off like some garages. They are not as expensive as you might think (assuming you don't drive an aston martin)
He'll also tell you if it is the alternator or something else

If the fan belt is set at the right tension, then it could be that the bearing is worn in the alternator..sorry need new alternator.

Are you sure it's the alternator itself - squirt a little WD40 on the belt - sometimes they can make some strange noises if they are new

I had the same problem, but touch of WD40 on to the belt did the trick for me. Good luck.
