Okay guys have a prostate gland. It therefore makes sense because guys do and girls don't that guys are more vulnerable to cancer there. Obviously you cannot get an illness if the organ does not exist in your body. Now, to answer your question, yes if women also had a prostate they would be as susceptible to prostate cancer as men. An example of this is breast cnacer, both men and women get it because we all have the same tissue in our breasts. Hope that helps!

The prostate is an compound tubuloalveolar exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system. So it's quite clear that there is no female prostate. The prostate differs considerably between species anatomically, chemically, and physiologically.

The main function of the prostate is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes up to one-third of the volume of semen. Semen is composed of spermatozoa and seminal fluid; about 10-30% of the seminal fluid is produced by the prostate gland, the rest is produced by the two seminal vesicles.

The prostate also contains some smooth muscles that help expel semen during ejaculation.

Read more about it and see figures at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostate .

There is no female prostate! Prostate gland is a doughnut shaped gland that encircles the urethra and discharges the semen when the sperm is ejaculated from the testes. Semen is the food for the sperm. Prostate can get enlarged in a benign way or in a malignant way. Prostate enlargement leads to constriction of the urethra and thus causes difficulty in passing urine.

Your question is related to medicine.

What does this have to do with Higher Education?!

First, women don't have prostates.

The prostate is something that can pinch off the anal passage in men. This is why when a man turns 30, he should pay a doctor to stick his finger up his butt every year to check for cancer. The main risk of prostate cancer is it pinching off your poo-pipe and cause you to go into septic shock as all the toxins are absorbed through the intestine (since they can't get out).

As Spike TV says, "Check up or check out."
