Go to a mechanic or mechanic buddy. Have them pull the ignition out and push the key out from the bottom. It will not take much time and will not cost much. Why on earth would you wait four months to get it fixed?

Take a new hack saw blade, using tin snips cut away most of the blade above the teeth leaving about an 1/8 inch of blade plus the teeth. Make the working edge about 2 inches long, enough that you can reach the broken key and grab it with the "new"tool. Just push it a little past the exposed end of the key, and pull the whole thing out. Use a flash light if needed to see................
You might also try a straightened out paperclip with a hook made onto one end. How to do it will become obvious

Put a light coat of Superglue on the edge of the external key where is broken. When you insert this half key, the edge will mate to the other half inside the ignition. Let it sit in there for a few hours to cure. Then pull the key out and both pieces should come right out. Discard this half and half key and use your spare from then on.

This doesn't have to be complicated if you don't want it to be.
Look under your steering column in the area of your key cylinder. Do you see a small hole directly under it?
There should be one there. Just get a long, thin object (a pick if you have it) and press it into the hole. There will be a small check ball there. Turn the key to the start position (key on, engine off) and press the pick in; the lock cylinder should just pop out. From there on you can use whatever method you like to get the key out.

well, if you don't want the barrel renewed and the key is broken at the barrel face..then you could drill slightly to one side of the barrel with an 1/8" or metric equivelant drill bit , enough to wind in a tap, remove the tap and grind one side flat..rewind it in with the ground flat face away from the key and hook the rest of the key shaft out..but then I'm a damn good engineer lol
