You're not alone with this problem; it happens to a lot more young adults than you would think.

Because you had the problem for years as a child, the problem is probably that your bladder didn't grow enough when you were a child to keep up with the rest of your body, and so it isn't strong enough to hold all the urine your body produces while you sleep at night. Because your bladder is not likely to grow anymore at age 25, the most likely solution would be for you to learn to wake up during the night when your bladder gets full before you wet the bed. There are alarm systems designed to help you do exactly that, by setting off a loud alarm as soon as you start urinating during the night so that you can learn to wake up in response to wetting the bed. After that happens for awhile, your brain will get used to what your bladder feels like before you set the alarm off, and you'll be able to wake up when you need to urinate before it's too late. Try http://www.bedwettingstore.com for a selection of these alarm devices.

You could also try exercising your bladder muscles to help your bladder learn to hold on longer when you really need to urinate, which could give your body a better chance to wake up during the night. To do this, simply wait until your bladder is very full (so that you need to urinate really badly), and when you go to the bathroom, try to start and stop the flow of urine in mid-stream (it will be hard at first, but you can learn to do it) until you can stop the flow and hold it for 10 seconds at a time. Doing this exercise over and over again will help strengthen the muscles that control your bladder. It might take a long time to work, but if you try both the alarm and the exercises there should be a good chance that you'll start wetting less often within a couple of months or so, and then hopefully stop entirely!

Good luck, I know how hard this problem is, and I really hope it gets better for you soon!

Ok, so this is what my mom did when I was little.

Nothing to drink a few hours before bed.
Go to the bathroom RIGHT before you go to sleep.
Set your alarm clock for the middle of the night, and get up and go to the bathroom.
You may want to wake up twice during the night if it's a bad bad problem.

I hope this helps. You might not have strong enough muscles to hold it in. If the problem does not get better, you should go to a doctor and explain this to him.

I hope everything works out for you. =)

One of my sons had this problem and he says the best advice I ever gave him was to hold it as long as he could and then force himself to hold it a little bit longer. I don't know if this makes a small bladder larger or what but it worked for him.

Do you happen to have sleep apnea by chance? It's common for sleep apnea patients to wet the bed since they are way too tired to notice they have to go. Maybe something is upsetting you subconsciously? You could try to see a psychologist.
