I know that a NY pharmacy school would ideally prepare you for the NYS licensing exam as well as the national exam while a NJ pharmacy school would prepare you for their own state exam. I really want to go to Rutgers in NJ, but I live in NY and I don't want to go to St. John's University in Queens. However, I don't want to put myself at a disadvantage by not being ready to take a NYS licensing exam if I go to a NJ school. In addition I'll most likely practice pharmacy in NY once I get out of school so yea. Anyways how do people prepare for licensing exams from other states? ok that's enough out of me. Thanks for all the advice!

You'll just have to review New York law before taking the exam. The NY board of pharmacy probably has all the laws posted. You'll also have to practice your compounding.
