I had my first one at about 9 weeks, and then my second one at around 20 or 22 weeks.

Generally they will do a dating and viability scan at around 12 weeks, but if you aren't sure of the date of your last period they may do one earlier. This is so they can see how old the pregnancy is and get your due date (it may change over time though) and also to see if the pregnancy is live, and check how many babies are in there.
They do a more detailed scan around 20 weeks/5 months where they take lots of measurements to see the baby is growing as he/she should be. This is the scan in which they may be able to tell you the sex of the baby.
Hope this helps! x

It may be scheduled right away at your first appt - to see how far along you are if you're not sure. Mine was right away, then not again till about 20 weeks, at which you can find out the gender of your little one if you choose. Also, God forbid you have any complications (like gestational diabetes, etc) you will have many more towards the end of your pregnancy to make sure the baby isn't getting too big. Good Luck!!!

I think it depends on your Dr. Some women go through out their pregnancy and don't but one ultrasound at 18-22 weeks. Others get one at every other appointment. I know I got three throughout my entire pregnancy and with my first I only got 2. I think it depends solely on your Dr and if they want to take the time to do one. But at leas tone must be done between 18-22 weeks.

Some doctors like to do one around 6-7 weeks to check for the embryonic sac and heartbeat. You definitely get one between 18-22 weeks to check growth, and this is when you can find out the gender.

Vaginal ultrasound at 8-10 weeks to verify pregnancy/check if pregnancy is viable. Main transabdominal ultrasound at 18-20 weeks for normal pregnancy. Depending on health plan and whether pregnancy is high risk or not, it may be the only and/or last one you will get.

It depends on the doctor. I had one at 8 weeks, but I know that some doctors will wait until 12 weeks.

I think it completely depends on your doctor and your health. Some doctors perform a routine at 9 weeks and others not until 12 weeks or more.
Congrats and best of luck!
