The little squiggles are nature doing its' thing. CO2 falls a bit during summer when plants are active, and rises during the winter. The huge increase is us, burning fossil fuels (in addition to the shape of the graph, the increase numerically matches the increase in fossil fuel use; an unlikely coincidence). The natural carbon cycle buried carbon in fossil fuels over a very long time, little bit by little bit. We dig them up and burn them, real fast. That's a problem.

During the interview ask:

"Why, in spite of the overwhelming scientific data, do some people and even a few scientists deny global warming is real?"

actualy the correct term is a climate crisis because the tempurature is slowing falling....the nex ice age is upon us. well ask him how much carbon you can keep out the atomosphere by keeping your tires inflated properly... it saves you 3% on your gas milage. okay another question who was the man who first had the idea to measure c02 in the atomsphere.
