ok, u gotta be retarded to think that magical power really exist. lets put that aside. How the magic "tricks" or the "illusion" really works is a closely kept secret within magicians. When there are alive performance, has ANYONe ever ran into the stage to reveal how it works? i mean i'd be willing to pay money to someone to go to a show and just run onto the stage to show that its not real. Obviously, once u get too close, the trick will be revealed (levitation). thats why they dont' just fly around and shake your hand or pick up with with them and fly around.

Almost no one thinks that tricks are real. I've done magic on a friendly level for years and while people are often fooled, no one really thinks it is 'magic'... but if I do it well, it is 'magical'.

Your audience voluntarily suspends its disbelief- just like we do at the movies. You ignore plot holes, impossibilities, etc. at a movie or play up to a point- and as long as I can keep you in this area without pushing too hard, we are both having fun with the tricks.

SOME magic will blow the person away, but even then, it is entertaining- not threatening.

Also- the tricks are not all that secret. Your local library has books that tell how to do most of it. YouTube blows a lot of tricks out of the water.

It is not really the 'how' of the trick that is the secret. The REAL secret is how to do the trick in a way that is 'magical'. We have ALL suffered through the lame tricks a buddy or someone shows, and been neither amazed or entertained- usually more irritated.

On the other hand, a decent magician can take a lame trick that you just learned how to do, and totally astound you with it.

The REAL reason we don't tell the secrets is because it actually depresses the average person to see how simply they were tricked, and you loose that wonder.

no it is not, but every time you reveal magic tricks the magician is not very happy because the whole point of magic is to be amazed. Also soon every trick will be revealed and magic will then become pointless. And most people want to be amazed, withought knowing how its done.
