I'm hoping that sooner or later we will get to hearing some serious facts on the important issues facing the US today. Mostly we've seen the candidates positioning themselves and establishing the image they want to project. I don't plan to make up my mind until I hear hard details on their plans for Iraq, the economy, and all the other key issues.
That said, I can't fathom voting for anyone but a Democrat for several reasons. Not only am I appalled by the lies we and our allies have been told, but near irrepairable damage has been done to our countrie's credibility IMHO. Not only do I think we need a change for our sake, but for other countries around the world to see that we do not support the actions of our country for the last then 8 years. And the fact that high level leaders are profiting from this war and other political actions revolts me to my core. To me it is not what this country is about.
From what I know now, I like Hillary the best, because I would kill for another Clinton White House. It is widely known that she was active her her husband's administation and I think it's fair that there would be similarities (minus all the negative ie cigar). That works for me. The economy was amazingly good then, international relations light years better than now and I could go on and on. Plus of all the candidates, I think she has has the most hands on experience of high level government.
There are things I like about John Edward, and I was liking Obama but his nasty campaign this early is turning me off to him. I felt he didn't have near enough experience to be at the top of the ticket, but was liking him for VP. Now I'm not so sure.
Whoever we vote for I feel it needs to be a leader who will have the ability to course correct this country. This may be the most important election in our lifetimes and I hope we get it right. And I hope the right candidate is out there. As for who is leading, I'm not sure that factors in at this point, because that can change as soon as we hit the first debate, or when more info gets out there. For example Mitt Romney is currently gaining popularity for the Republicans, but as a MA resident, I am confident he will lose all that as soon as folks get to know his record and his failures versus his image. I voted for him for Gov and never regretted a vote more. He was a disaster, who was never even in the state and who did nothing until a tragedy gave him 10 min to look strong. But so far those outside of MA don't really know who he is and how innept at government...they just know his image. To me if he can't run a state, he sure shouldn't lead the country!
I know where I'm leaning but right now I need to hear a lot more before voting.

"Also when you do consider the FACT that Republicans only really give tax breaks or tax subsides to the rich and infamous like Multinational corporations such as Exxon. And favor instead taxing the working class poor and elderly ?" I don't know where you have been the last decade, but the number of people paying no federal income tax went from 20% in 2000, to 47% in 2008. The child care credit was doubled. Earned income credit was doubled.

Nobody, there isnt a presidential election going on.
As far as primaries, again, you cant tell because polls dont mean a thing.
But I believe Hilliary has a slight lead over Obamam.
Not sure about the republicans, but it doesnt matter because if the dems are stupid enough to put forward hiliary...well any republican will win.

Nobody is winning right now, because there haven't yet been any primaries. All candidates are tied with zero votes and zero delegates.
I'm planning to vote for Bill Richardson in the primaries.

I'm already tired of the 2008 Election
Just as long as the last name isn't Bush or Clinton of the next president, since 1989(Most of you were watching Teletubbies inn1989) one of these families has run America, is this the best we have?

Hillary. The White House needs some fresh, new people.
An African-American canidate would be great too, but Obama doesn't have but 2 years of Senate experience.
On the Republican side, McCain is digging himself deeper into a hole.
Rudy is too, well not moderate..
Fred Thompson.. he is some guy from Tennessee, also my home. I have no idea who he is.

No one is winning the election right now. We are in the beginning stages wherein candidates are beginning to announce their bids. We have a while to go before the formal process begin with primaries and so forth.
I'm for Hillary.
