While I respect the rights of all to choose, I myself am having a difficult time stomaching any of the alternatives thus far. I am a political centrist with a lean to the left on social issues and a lean to the right on foreign policy ones.
In November of 2008 I will pull a lever because NOT voting is not an option for me as an American. I don't yet know who will get that vote but of one thing I'm sure based on what I have seen thus far:
It will be a vote cast for an individual assessed to be the lesser of evils.....and not a vote case FOR a party.

To be honest there positives and negatives to both of the parties. There are even positives and negatives to the independent party. But, what is the best? It's not an easy question. Specifically, one Republican could be better than another or one Democrat could be better than the other. The problem is the party. I like several Democratic candidates but not all. And I like several Republican candidates not all. What I can tell you is I don't like the Republican candidate that is leading the nation now and whether I vote Democrat or Republic depends on the character of that person not the character of his or her party. You can't be closed minded when it comes to these things. If not you will never be satisfied even if your party wins.

Do all respect to the both, but the two of them would not make any difference in this community, but I'll rather have Democratic party because every time a Republican party take over, a war erupts. But the Democrat's rather save money better than going and spending it on wars.
We should have a party called "we the people."

I'm a "swing" voter.
I think anyone who makes up their mind on an topic before they know each individual issue, or who supports someone regardless of whom they are just because they affiliate themselves with a set group, is a bit disillusioned on how to make good decisions.
While political parties are a good generalization of what a politicians ideals are, usually at least if they believe the state or federal government should have more/less control, there is such a wide spectrum of different people with different views in their OWN political faction that such generalizations fall about on the individual level.
And when you vote, you're NOT just voting for the group; You're voting for a representative, a singular human being who tries to represent their position. You've got to look at the person, not just the party.

I support neither. Neither of them strikes me as that good, it is more about the less of two evils. Or you might say trying to pick the best out of each. In fact I'm a big supporter of having both and more, because if which ever gets control especially for a long time, they abuse that power, so you really need the other party(s) just to make sure they don't have free rain.

Republicans have survived via systematically brainwashing decrease and center type human beings into believing that they stand via them. really, Republican have under no circumstances supported the decrease and center classes. they have continually decrease taxes to the wealthiest and compelled the decrease and center classes to carry the load of operating this u . s .. once you're making a lot less then one hundred,000 and vote Republican then you really are vote casting adversarial on your human being self-interest. in case you're a woman or minority vote casting Republican, ditto. it really is similar to an abused female returning to her abusive husband. also, tell your boss that there are one of those cheaters on the Republican side. The Governor of South Carolina has a mistress in Argentina, the senator from Nevada had an affair very last 365 days, and enable's no longer neglect Newt Gingrich. He divorced his first spouse even as she replaced into demise of cancer. seem on the positioned up above from "momma" and also you'll see what I mean via brainwashing. it really is painfully glaring that she don't have the intelligence to make the splendid selection. She states that she chooses now to not trust each and everything the media shoves down her throat, yet I guess she listens to hurry and watches Fox information. She has unsuitable beliefs about the Democatic social gathering that she would have in simple terms gotten from those resources. If lack of information is bliss, she must be the happiest individual on the face of the earth.

I know the Republicans will lower my taxes, they always d,(Bush's$500 child tax cedit, reduction of the marriage penalty etc).
And I know the Democrats will always raise my taxes(the budget they just submitted allows the Bush tax cuts to lapse, resulting in the largset tax increase in history-the second largest was during the Clinton administration.
I think marriage should be between a man and a woman like the Republicans do, the Democrats don't.
I believe partial birth abortion is murder, and if you do your own research on what it really is you will agree, the Democrats don't.
The republicans have us at 94% employment. The stock market is at historical highs, home ownership is at record highs thanks to low interest rates. And all this while defending our country against an enemy that has stated publicly they want to kill every non-muslim man woman and child on earth.

I am a democrate, I am for the people. I show support to all democrats. I believe that they do a better job than the republicans when it come to the overall population and the concerns that surround it. Republicans seem to be more about themselves and big corporation businesses. This is the way I see it.
However all politcal parties make no sense to me. It's like choosing between evils. Just choose a good candidate I suppose.

Half dozen of one , six of the other. The one thing they overwhelmingly agree on is when it's time to vote themselves a nice fat raise.... and they do that regularly. So they have much in common... line your own pocket and to hell with everyone else. Here's a little gem. Each one talks about education and how very imporatnt it is to have the best schools in the world with the best resources. They all love the photo op where they are reading to a group of school children. Remember, That's where George was when 9/11 occurred. But .... how many members of Congress have their children in a public school? Not a single one.
