There are people who will vote for someone because of how they look or where there from or probably because of the shoes they wear. Not knowing the facts about anything going on.

That's exactly what most politicians want them to do. How can they get away with all the garbage that comes out or the Congress or various state houses, if the people took the trouble to read the legislation passed or check into who voted for it or not.

As long as the people remain ignorant, the politicians benefit. Why do you think "Get Out The Vote" campaigns crank up so strongly right before elections. They want to encourage those who haven't taken the time to study issues and candidates, to go to the polls and cast their ballots based on the advertisements and ten second bites on TV news. It works great. How else can you explain the presence of so many loony toonz in all levels of government?

I wish I knew the answer to this. Sometimes I want to start my own TV or radio show called "I call BS on that" and let people know the real BS politicians give out. I wish people would do their own research and stop relying on the media so much. Voting should be about the candidate's qualifications and not how much money is in their pocket.

definite...and your plan could probable run into major problems with the structure; I hate to allow you to know, notwithstanding the ACLU could probable sue and win (with the try being thrown out). you may actually have a serious project getting a bipartisan panel to agree on something this politically charged. The project on your plan could be released on 14th change grounds, and there is already case regulation in Harper v. Board of Elections (1966), which struck down the ballot tax. Your plan could also probable fall sufferer to the equivalent protection Clause of the 14th, or to the tenth (feds exceeding means). Now, if a state were to target to do it, it may probable lose on 14th or fifteenth change grounds.

Because there are way to many people who think all there is to voting is to walk into a booth and push a button or pull a lever,
actually knowing what it is you're voting for is a secondary thought, if a thought at all.

People are lazy.
They want simple answers to the worlds problems.
It is all Bush's fault.
It is all democrat's fault
It is all the conservative's fault
It is all the liberal's fault
etc etc

If people did educate themsleves more the government would be a whole lot better the screaming demons we got now.

I think you should be less concerned about people voting and more concerned about the voters of the electoral college dictating who 300 million people vote for.

Because the only "education" available is someone else's biased spin on a candidate. Elections should be about qualifications, but they aren't. It's a popularity contest.
