My criteria for "honest" are:
* None of these goofy permutations like double-exposure, Spanish 21 or Switch. Bad side bets that can be ignored are okay, though.
* Double down on any two first cards.
* BLACKJACK PAYS 3 TO 2

Regarding West Wendover -- How ironic! I live in Salt Lake City and never realized that the best blackjack in the entire world was right in my own backyard. Thanks to everybody else who provided helpful suggestions on this question.

The last time I was in LV(December 06) the only places with single deck 3/2 blackjack were.
El Cortez
Four Queens
Binion's
Vegas Club
Almost every strip hotel does have single deck blackjack but it's all 6/5 including the IP that was mentioned above. The only 3/2 BJ at the IP was an 8 deck game.
Here are a couple of places you can go to talk with real BJ players
http://www.bj21.com
this is the 'Current blackjack Newsletter"
or you could use this site(I belong)
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com
you can sign up for a free 5 day trial, this site has over 30,000 of us dedicated LV nuts. Plus most of the "experts" on gambling either write for the LVA and or hang out on this site. You can talk to any of them you like(forums). It would take much to long to list all of them.

I haven't played in Station Casinos in over a year, but last time I did they paid 6 to 5 on Single Deck blackjack.
I know the El Cortez downtown does pay 3-2 for blackjack though.

If you are travelling for the sole purpose of playing single deck blackjack, you can't beat Wendover, Nevada. It's on the Utah/Nevada border on Interstate 80. Almost 100% of their blackjack is single deck allowing all of the criteria you mentioned. The prominent side bet on most of their tables is the Royal Match bet. It pays 3-1 if your hole cards are suited, 10-1 if your hole cards are the king/queen suited, and an extra 100-1 if your hole cards are king queen suited and the dealer also deals himself a suited king/queen in the same hand. Major sucker bet, but people love it.

Single deck blackjack is a thing of the past.
Card counting as I suspect is the reason you asked, takes too much brain power now days.

Green Valley Ranch has a few single deck black jack tables. It's off the strip and one of the best local casino's around. Their sister hotel - Red Rock is another great place for Single Decks.

Yup. I live here in Vegas.
On the strip Imperial Palace is the only place left. Some of the Station Casinos on the outskirts of town offer it as well.

The Stratosphere still has it, but if you're coming on a weekend, those tables are pretty packed. The IP has it too, but is usually even busier. Try the week days for both.
