Irregular periods happen to many, if not most women, at times. If the problem continues more than three months, then it is time to go back the the GYN and have an exam. Are you on birth control pills or any other form? Do you have endometreosis? Are you a teenager for whom irregular periods are common place? Are you a matural women for whom irregular periods could mean hormonal changes, like an early menopause.
I have never heard that irregular periods are a sign of cervical or ovarian cancer! Do you have regular PAP smears?
Get the picture. GO see a doctor!

I've had irregular periods since i got it and it is not a sign of cervical cancer, more like a risk for it, unless you fix it, i know because I had problems with it until my doctor put me on birth control pills..you have irregular periods because youre not making enough progesterone and so hence the irregular bleeding..sometimes i would'nt get mine for months and not that long ago, I was bleeding for months on end..All you need to do is get on birth control pill to regulate the cycle and youll be fine..but you should see a gyn specialist if youre concerned, so they can run a few test, also keep in mind that when it comes to hormone blood test they should be performed at a certain time and day of the month..not just random like some doctors make you think..

Well, first off. Don't trust everything you hear on this site. We aren't a bunch of doctors sitting online answering questions. If we were, the world would be a better place. Sure, it can be a sign, but so can a million other things. Best bet is to talk to your doctor. Maybe think about any changes in your life that may be the one to blame. Irregular periods are very common, so don't get stressed and make those periods worse just yet, make an appointment.

Irregular periods can be caused by all sorts of things. It's normal to have your period a couple of days late, or early - there's usually nothing wrong. But if your period cycle gets severe, where you're missing months at a time, you should see your Doctor. He/she could, or might, put you on Birth Control where this regulates your period and helps your body adjust. Being too low in body fat can also contribute to a missed or irregular period. Hormone imbalance could also be an issue. If you're having the symptoms of Periods but are getting them a few days later, that could be PMS. See your doctor for a final diagnosis.

Irregular periods is a sign of hormonal imbalance. I have had cervical cancer and it didn't change my period habits by any means.

NO, you do not have any kind of cancer, irregular periods are normal. It takes about 1 year minimum for your periods to become regular.

Wow- dont believe everything you read. Irregular periods alone are very common - almost half of all women do not have periods that are perfectly in cycle. As long as they are normal for you you're fine.

It can be, but it's also usually accompanied by blood clots, extreme cramps, or other signs. I had the same problem and it turned out to be nothing, but I'd get tested just to be safe.
Irregular periods can also be caused by age (if you're still going through puberty, or past your "prime"), or stress, a change in diet, exercise, even weather. It could just be your body, too, but to be safe, I'd get checked.
Good luck!
