My dryer take two cycles to get our clothes dry. It's getting annoying. I don't think it's the heating element or the air duct being clogged. Any other ideas?

We have completely cleaned the air duct and we remove lint before every load. Our clothes or warm when we remove them. It is the same when we have large and small loads.

I did the water test and washed with soap and water. It is letting much more water through now. I've just put another wet load in. We'll see if this helps. Keep coming with the ideas though.

Too many clothes in the dryer?
It doesn't take a lot of lint in the air duct to reduce the effectiveness of the dryer. Check the point where the duct attaches to the dryer.

Check the duct again to make sure it could be anywhere in the duct. If you are sure that it isn't the duct then it is more then likely a thermal switch. It is getting hot & kicking off the heating element.
Not to make you sound stupid but is the lint trap empty?

are you cleaning the lint trap before every load??
do you have the dryer set to regular? if it's on delicate, then it will take several cycles to dry?
is your washing machine spinning all the water out of the clothes??

if you use those dryer sheet it can clog the lint filter, you cant see it .just take out the lint filter Ron some water on it and see if the water passes through it easy.i was told this and sure enough the water beaded up if this happens just use and old tooth brush and some dish soap.

Mine did the same thing, and it was indeed that the air duct was partly clogged. Also it was old. may be time to get a new one!

try removing the lint trap and scrubbing with a brush, softener accumulates on it and blocks air flow.
