It's so cold here.
I've recently been practicing divination and magick from several books by Scott Cunningham, and I need a simple spell to warm the weather. Should I use the East Wind (being the wind of Springtime)? Any help appreciated.
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY. Thank you.

Not a permanant way to warm it up, and not unusually warm. The wind chill is 15 right now. My garden is freezing.
I know one is not supposed to interfere with Mother Nature; I was thinking of it as more of a suggestion spell.
I live in Nebraska and it's usually around 70 this time of year. I just want it to be above freezing so my plants don't die...
That being said, suggestions, please?

Earth itself is aliving thing (this could be a metaphor or not).
And living things have free will. Attempting to force ones will on others could cause imbalance and attempting to, lets just say control nature, could conclude your own harm. Try asking and if mother nature doesnt answer then leave her be.

Serious answer. Leave the weather alone. Nature handles it the way she needs to. A friend of mine tried to warm things up once, she caused a flood by causing the 3 feet of snow we had on the ground to melt too quickly. Bad news. Learn to raise your body temperature instead. Try visualizing that you are sitting in the sun. Feel the sun falling on the top of your head. Feel the heat of the sun moving all over and through your body. If your visualization skills are good, you should be able to feel yourself warm up... (and if you are unable to pull that off, then you don't have the juice or experience to screw around with the weather anyway...)
That's not something a newbie should be screwing around with anyway, you could seriously mess up the entire world like that.....and most with any real experience, probably just wouldn't .
Edit: Where I live, we had unusually warm winter, and now an unusually cold and even snowy weather this week. But nature will take care of it, honest....If you are worried about tender young plants freezing, try building a cold frame, that's what they're for...

When the temperature in the last millenia was actually 10 degrees warmer than it is today and the arguably greatest expansion of human civilization occured during this time I must ask why are we concerned about a 1 degree temperature shift? What is stupid is ignoring history and that science that disagrees with you. There are many books on global warming and some are written by climate scientists with a great deal more qualifications than this author of "The Rough Guide to Climate" not that he doesn't have some qualifications. Now if you are truly science minded then you must be open minded, not something you see much of on YA from AGW supporters in my opinion. If you are truly open minded you should consider reading a book that contradicts with what you believe and consider it at least. I might suggest DR. Vincent Grays "The Greenhouse Delusion: A Critique of "Climate Change 2001"" book may be a good start. His qualifications are quite impressive although you might not like what you read just remember to keep an open mind.

yea messing up with nature can cause an inbalence talking from onw experience and that can lead to getting things going againts you try the heating of you self simple way to do it is eating more pepers and spicy foods there is not simple spells and if a spell is thought as simple then maybe queshtion your logic for casting it everything has a reaction even if it takes long before it caches up

I would leave Mother Nature alone if I were you. Like the user above me said, she knows how to take care of herself. She knows what's best.
Besides that, have you seriously thought of the consequences of changing the weather?
What about our food supply that depends on this season, or the animals that haven't yet shed their winter coats? If you change the weather, all these things will die. Farmers wont have a food supply to give us, thus, they wont have money to put food on the table for their own family. The animals who haven't yet shed their fur coats will die because of heat-stroke.
When people first start out practicing magick, it's a common mistake to want to control elements outside your personal realm and space to help you gain something. Scott Cunningham teaches the most important lesson in magick: don't mess with anyone's free will. As I see it, anything outside your own personal realm and space is off-limits, unless given explicit permission, such as healing another.
I suggest (like the user above me) that you use meditation and grounding techniques to raise your body temperature. That, and layer-up on your clothes.

Serious answer here - don't screw with the weather for your own selfish desires. It affects more than just you. Warm yourself, and leave the weather alone.
Besides, if you have to ask a question like this here, you don't have the knowledge or experience to be trying something like that in the first place (even without the ethical repercussions).

I would try warming your garden with a blanket to keep off frost. Your garden will bounce back when it warms up. You can always try casting spells, but it is just like praying in my mind, they either answer or not. She's a fickle being Mother Nature, especially when people mess around with her.

Is this a spell to warm up the weather permanently? If so, the American president and his team have been repeating the spell constantly.

I don't know any spells... but warmer weather would certainly be nice. I live in Minnesota, and about a week ago it was around 80 degrees... and then yesterday, it snowed.

Seriously, good luck! I've been practicing a decade and am a high priestess, and WE (collectively) couldn't do it.
Blessings and good luck!
